Wine at the Lazaridis Museum

Half a day at the Costas Lazaridis Wine Museum: the collections, the ageing cellars, and a tasting that someone actually walks you through.

What the day is

The museum first, the glass second

Tasting without context is just drinking. The order here is deliberate.

You go through the museum before anything is poured: the exhibits, the collections, and the ageing cellars, which are the part people remember. The hand-painted magnums — 1.5 and 3 litres — sitting there maturing. The cork tree, and what actually comes off it. One of the largest corkscrew collections anywhere.

Then the tasting: a set of premium labels, poured and explained one at a time, with fresh bread, good cheeses and cold cuts alongside.

Maria runs the tasting herself. Guests describe it as organised rather than casual, and that is the intention — you leave knowing why you liked what you liked.

The wine tasting experience is unique! Maria, an experienced wine connoisseur and lover, made me really love it and her presentation was extremely organized. We tried many wine labels, with my friend, accompanied by unique cheeses and cold cuts. I highly recommend it, it is a wine tasting that you will remember forever!
